Over the past fourteen years I have had the good fortune of holding faculty positions in undergraduate and graduate programs across the country, teaching regional seminars, and consulting with students on plays and screenplays. I am proud to see my students accepted into the most competitive graduate programs; receive national recognition as playwrights, screenwriters, and producers; and serve as advocates for the arts locally and nationally.

I see teaching as a logical extension of my professional activities as an artist. I am as much an educator as I am an artist and for me the two identities are constantly influencing each other. As an educator I examine the craft of writing so I can teach it with ever more clarity and insight. As an artist I use this clarity and insight to further develop my writing.
