Andrea Stolowitz is a multinational playwright living and working in Portland, Oregon and Berlin, Germany. Her work embraces bold theatricality ranging from intimate portrayals of the human condition to the intersection of national history on private lives. She is the Lacroute Playwright-in-Residence at Artists Repertory Theatre a member of New Dramatists class of 2024, and an alumna of The Playwrights’ Center. Andrea is a collaborating writer with the internationally lauded devised theater company Hand2Mouth Theatre.

The Berlin Diaries is a recipient of the City of New York Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment  Women’s Film, TV and Theatre Fund. The play will be produced in New York City in March, 2022. Andrea’s newest play Recent Unsettling Events won the 2020 Portland Civic Theatre Guild’s New Play prize, The 2020 Blue Ink Prize from American Blues Theatre, and was developed at New Dramatists in an initiative with the Venturous Theater Fund. The play is a finalist for the 2021 Eugene O’Neill National Playwrights Conference and for the Oregon Book Award in Drama. Recent Unsettling Events is currently being adapted into an audio drama through New Dramatists and Broadway Podcast Network.
