These are the projects keeping me up at night.
Andrea Stolowitz Gets Yelled at by Jews in Lobbies (in development): A playwright sets out to make a documentary play about the Jewish community in Cork, Ireland. Then the war in Gaza begins, and the playwright is forced into her own story. Developed in the US with Solas Nua Theatre, Wax Factory, New Dramatists, and under the title Numbered be Our Days in Ireland with The Cork Theatre Collective, Fishamble: The New Play Company, The Abbey Theatre Literary and New Work Department, and the Cork Midsummer Festival.
Earthnauts (in development): The last two members of an intentional community face the limits of their fifty-year experiment. A play with music created at the Stillwrights silent writing residency and developed at New Dramatists.
The Next Tomorrow (in development): It’s 1979. A scientist, an activist, and a politician begin a ten-year quest to create an actionable response to climate change. They almost succeed. A commission from the Lucille Lortel Alcove Project.
